If you cut in queue, I WILL cut you!!

I hate queues, a lot. If I can,  I will avoid queueing. And from experience, I know you can if you just plan your time well and avoid rush times.

Then there are days like today, when I desperately need a bottle of cold water, but the queue at the school cafeteria goes on to Timbuktu. So I stand in queue agirated by how slow the cashier is, but I'm too thirsty to leave the queue, and good enough there's only 3 people ahead now. Just then this woman walks in and goes straight at the front and orders a bottle of coke. The cashier starts to enter the order. At this point my head is spinning in anger and frustration. Who in God's name are you?  So I call her out,  "Excuse me! We are in a queue if you haven't noticed"
"Sorry" she says.
I've never been one to be bullied. So that right there was my tiping point. A little heated exchange follows and she storms out of the cafeteria, leaving the cashier with her money and to be honest, it felt so good to watch her embarrassed 'important' self leave. If I didn't do anything else, that moment there was enough to justify my existence for today.

If you cut queues,  you could as well put a poster on your forehead saying "I'm selfish, stupid and arrogant" . and don't even tell me you're in a rush, who isn't?  I'm from the coast and there's this phrase we use ,"if you were in such a hurry you should have come yesterday" a bit silly but point is,  plan your time well.

  1. I totally agree with you. We need to respect each other. Everyone else's time is just as important as yours...
